Insecure HBO: Pure Black Girl Magic
The talented Issa Rae has brought some #blackgirlmagic to HBO. Insecure is a tale of two black women navigating the ebbs and flows of life; confusing relationships, workplace awkwardness and black girl banter in the realest way possible. It's rare to find a scripted show that makes you laugh, because you can relate from beginning to end.
Insecure is the quintessential black millennials guide to life. Soundtrack provide by Drake of course. Loosely based on Issa Rae's YouTube series: The Misadventures of AWKWARD Black Girl, which I use to watch a few years back. I'm glad to see some realistic representations of black people on television. This allows America to see that there in not one right way to be black. All of our experiences are different based on where we live, where we went to school and who we interact with. I look forward to following Issa round on her personal and professional journey.
Insecure premieres October 9th at 10:30PM
